About Me

Attitudes are the real disabilities!

Like Robert Louis Stevenson, Ricky Brown is a Scot who took up with an American and settled in New York state. In 2012, he suffered a serious hemorrhagic stroke, but has recovered as well as could be expected. He now lives in Edinburgh, with two cats and his healthcare proxy and muse. When not working on his memoir of extreme survival and cream puffs, Ricky does words and concepts in Nerd Bait, a trans-Atlantic collaborative creative collective with a hyphen-collecting multi-instrumentalist-composer and a scientist-singer.

apoplectic.me is intended to offer hope and entertainment to survivors of strokes and maudlin British indie music, as well as their caregivers.
